Great Guns | Series #36 | Ergo Gun

Blast guns can impact production and maintenance – either positively or negatively. In this "Great Guns" series we'll review applications for one high performance suction blast gun. (Yes, there is a difference in blast guns, and it is easy to upgrade.)

Although the suction blast gun in the photos was designed for superior ergonomics in a manual blast cabinet, we’ve also found it blasts faster and better than most, helping to make a system more efficient.

As a result, several of my customers have upgraded their tumble baskets with this gun - even though they are automated systems where ergonomics isn't a factor.

And for those who hate to repair stuff inside a blast system (that would be all of us!), this blast gun truly lasts longer in the rigorous abrasive environment - with longer intervals between required service. (That is due to urethane and tungsten or boron carbide construction - as well as a thoughtful design.) And tools? Pretty much a screwdriver and allen wrench.

Here are two customer-supplied photos showing basket blaster (automation) installations with the suction gun.

One customer cut off the ergonomic handle, attaching it with a hose clamp, and another drilled and bolted the handle to a gun mount! Pretty simple.

An available "hose kit" is very flexible - which comes in handy for manual blasting where ergonomics is important, or - as in the case of the tumble blasters - where there is little room inside the cabinet.

Want to make a quick improvement? This one will give you a lot of blasting bang for the buck. In fact, it is one of the most reasonably priced high performance blast guns on the market today.

Install it next time your old gun is worn out, or upgrade now.

Contact me for more info - including selecting the right version & options, air requirements, tips on adapting the gun to your manual or automated blaster, and pricing.

And by the way, in New England and New York State, we install parts & conversions, and maintain your blaster too! Ask for details.
